PUBLIC SPEAKING SERIES “¿HABLAMOS?” ORGANIZED BY ALDAZ AND OLABIDEA
Over the month of October, Aldaz and Olabidea hosted a public speaking series titled “¿Hablamos?”.
The series consisted of three different sessions featuring professional speakers who emphasized the importance of public speaking and effectively communicating ideas to the public.
The first session, “Words that Move” was given by Francisco Carrillo, director of “Fábrica de Discursos” in Madrid. He highlighted the use of communication as a tool of persuasion. Francisco Carrillo is an advisor in political and business communications and is a speech coach for political candidates, executives and businessmen.
Maite Mulet headlined the second session, “Words that excite”. Through an interactive session, she introduced the audience to the interesting world of dubbing. Although her job involves getting “into the shoes of a character”, the dub actor advised the audience to always stay faithful to oneself when speaking in public.
The last session featured Roberto Cabezas, Executive Director of Career Services at the University of Navarre. He defined three keys to success when it comes to public speaking: simplicity, clarity, and empathy. Cabezas asserted the importance of establishing not only what one is going to say, but how one is going to say it.
